DEMEC Staff Hosts Sen. Stephanie Hansen on Tour of Beasley Power Station

DEMEC Staff were honored to host Sen. Stephanie Hansen for an in-depth tour of our 100-megawatt natural gas peaking power plant.

The Beasley Power Station is jointly owned by members of DEMEC as part of the many benefits from economies of scale through joint action. When energy costs the most, during peak hours, is when the power station is designed to run. This brings significant savings to our members’ customers through avoided costs and reduces congestion on the grid. As a peaking plant, the Beasley Power Station can generate and provide power to the grid in 10 minutes, serving as a resource for reliability and restoration.
