DEMEC Members Recognized as Reliable Public Power Providers
DEMEC is proud to announce that the City of Seaford and the City of Dover were named Reliable Public Power Providers (RP3) by the American Public Power Association (APPA) for the fourth and fifth time, respectively. Four key disciplines are considered during the review process: reliability, safety, workforce development, and system improvement. Customers can expect faster service, fewer or no storm outages, and a comprehensive emergency management plan in case of a disaster.
The City of Seaford and the City of Dover join an elite group of public power utilities nationwide that received RP3 designation this year. The City of Seaford earned a Gold designation, and the City of Dover a Platinum designation for their utility-wide commitment to the safe and reliable delivery of electricity.
DEMEC members have a strong history with this program. The City of Dover was recognized for the first time in 2008, with the cities of Seaford and Lewes following in 2010. Reliability and safety continue to be top priorities for DEMEC and its members. We are thrilled to see their hard work recognized year after year.
