Kimberly Schlichting Honored with the Kramer-Preston Personal Service Award
This week the American Public Power Association (APPA) honored DEMEC’s President & CEO, Kimberly Schlichting, with their national public power service award for her significant contributions to public power. Kimberly was presented with the Kramer-Preston Personal Service Award to recognize her years of service, including several boards and committees for APPA and American Municipal Power (AMP). Notable roles include the APPA Board of Directors and Executive Committee, along with the AMP Board of Trustees. Her passion for service and public power is on display most evidently through her dedication to supporting mutual aid, specifically the #LightUpNavajo pilot initiative. As DEMEC wraps up our 7th year supporting the project with the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority, Kimberly’s passion and leadership shines through her hands-on involvement, going out almost every year to further the project. Congratulations, Kimberly!
“Kimberly is highly regarded as a leader on the AMP Board and in the industry,” said Jolene Thompson, AMP President/CEO. “In addition to her passionate support of the LUN effort, she has helped to advance the goals of APPA through her service on the APPA Board of Directors and on several Board committees, including the Executive Committee. This recognition is well deserved and goes hand in hand with the Crisson Award she received in 2019 as a testament to her leadership and contributions toward public power.”
