DEMEC MEMBER VISIT – CITY OF NEWARK
As part of DEMEC’s Member Visit series, staff visited the City of Newark. Tom Coleman, Newark’s City Manager and DEMEC Board Vice Chair, shared historical facts about the city, economic development, and current & future projects. Several important sites were visited throughout the day to help staff develop a better understanding of Newark and its unique characteristics. Stops included the state’s first community solar project at McKee’s Solar Park, the University of Delaware’s STAR Campus, and the university’s energy and environmental institutes to hear and see the latest innovation in energy.
