DEMEC Member Visit – City of Milford

DEMEC kicked off its 2026 Member Visit series with a visit to the City of Milford, providing an opportunity for staff to connect with local leaders and gain firsthand insight into the community we proudly serve.

The day began with presentations from city officials highlighting Milford’s rich history, electric service territory, strategic priorities, and ongoing economic development efforts, including the Milford Corporate Center currently under construction.

The group then toured the city, noting key community assets and major employers such as Purdue Farms, Bayhealth Hospital Sussex Campus, and United States Cold Storage. The tour also included a stop at the proposed site for a battery energy storage project in Milford, expecting to be the first of its kind in Delaware.

The visit concluded with a team-building activity led by Tom Kearns, former PGA professional and spouse of DEMEC’s Director of HR, Diane Kearns.

Thank you to Vice Mayor Jason James Sr., Councilman Dan Marabello, Councilwoman Katrina Wilson, and the Milford staff for welcoming us and sharing the vision, growth, and opportunities that make Milford such a vibrant community.
