DEMEC Hosts Digger Derrick Training for Lineworkers
This week lineworkers from the Town of Middletown, City of Milford, City of Newark, Town of Smyrna, City of Seaford, & MSC of New Castle came together at the to complete Digger Derrick & Aerial Device vehicle, more commonly known as ” “, training. This training was designed to equip crews with the skills needed to safely inspect and operate these essential tools. With rapid growth statewide, it is increasingly important for high-voltage crews to be skilled in the safe operation of these vehicles, and being able to learn and practice these skills in a safe environment is critical to success. Key components of the training included equipment inspection and setup, hands-on operation, field exercises, and both self-rescue and teammate rescue techniques.
