DEMEC Honors Member Communities During Public Power Week
It’s Public Power Week! The week we get to shout from the rooftops the amazing benefits of #PublicPower and share a glimpse of the “Power Behind the Energy”. As you drive through our member communities you will see billboards featuring some of the local lineworkers that serve our members’ residents and business with reliable and resilient power. As public power utilities, we promote a high quality of life for those we serve through long-term and ongoing programs, services, and contributions to the community.
This week we highlight our member communities and their teams that help drive economic development, safety, and innovation for their communities. These teams help their towns save time and money through operational efficiencies and shared expenses for a variety of business and community services. Being part of DEMEC adds to those economies of scale when they join together to bring new programs and services for their customers at a fraction of the cost.
We’re celebrating community-owned, not-for-profit utilities that put people over profits!
When you support public power, you’re helping to:
Your local utility helps power more than lights — it powers opportunity and community growth. We’re proud to serve our neighbors, friends, and families.
As public power utilities we believe the best decisions are made right here at home — by the people who live and work in the communities we serve. Public power means local control, where your voice matters and your needs come first. It means reliable, resilient electricity and the ability to invest in what’s best for our towns — whether that’s upgrading infrastructure, supporting energy generation, or innovating for the future.
We proudly celebrate the strength, reliability, and community-first focus of public power in Delaware and across the country. From energy savings to local investments, public power puts people first! Thank you to our member communities for the work you do every day to keep the lights on and support the hometown values that make public power so powerful. When your power is public, your voice matters. Your energy stays local. And your community thrives. Here’s to another year of powering progress — together.
