DEMEC Celebrates Public Power Week
During Public Power Week, which takes place the first full week of October each year, DEMEC proudly celebrated our nine member communities: Clayton, Dover, Milford, Lewes, Middletown, New Castle, Newark, Seaford, and Smyrna and the dedicated utility teams who keep them powered every day. Throughout the week, we highlighted the value of community-owned electric utilities, from local decision-making and accountability to reliable, affordable service focused on the needs of residents and businesses. We also recognized the strength of working together through shared resources, training, and expertise. Together, our members demonstrate what makes public power special: local service, strong partnerships, and a commitment to the communities they serve.
