Schlichting Reappointed to APPA Board of Directors

Kimberly Schlichting, COO – SVP Power Supply for the Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation (DEMEC), was re-elected to the American Public Power Association (APPA) Board of Directors at their National Conference in Austin, TX.

Schlichting will serve a three-year term representing the Atlantic Region. The region includes the states of Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. She is joined by 29 other elected members from public power communities across the country.

Kimberly joined DEMEC in November 2003 and now serves as DEMEC’s Chief Operating Officer. In addition to sitting on the APPA Board of Directors, Ms. Schlichting is a member of APPA’s Mutual Aid Working Group (MAWG) and serves as the Mutual Aid Network Coordinator in region III representing Delaware. APPA is a national organization representing over 2,000 public power utilities that serve over 48 million customers. They promote public power through collective advocacy and education. APPA is a nonprofit, non-partisan organization driven to provide services that ensure adequate, reliable electricity at a reasonable price while protecting the environment. Kimberly also serves as an Alternate Director for American Municipal Power, a joint action agency representing 135 members across nine states.
