Former DEMEC Chair Receives National Leadership Award

Former DEMEC Chair, Dolores Slatcher, who retired from the DEMEC Board earlier this year, received the 2018 American Public Power Association (APPA) Mark Crission Leadership and Managerial Excellence Award at the APPA Annual Conference in June.  Dolores was one the founding members of DEMEC in 1979, supporting the importance of powering communities together through the benefits of joint action. Through numerous monthly board meetings, special committees, trainings, and events, Dolores faithfully served DEMEC as the representative for the City of Seaford. Dolores served the City of Seaford for over 40 years, retiring as their City Manager. Her inspirational leadership and dedication to the advocacy of public power earned Dolores this prestigious award.
