DEMEC Member Officials Tour Beasley Power Station

Last week we were able to take officials from DEMEC’s member communities on a tour of the Beasley Power Station. Our operators were excited to show them how the 100MW natural gas peaking plant works and explain its role in maintaining reliability and keeping costs low to our members. The Beasley Power Station is Delaware’s only blackstart capable generation facility and plays an important role in the Delmarva peninsula’s reliability. It is part of a diverse mix of DEMEC’s power supply portfolio that also includes solar, wind, nuclear, and other generation sources. DEMEC balances their portfolio with self-supply assets and market contracts to balance risk and cost to our members.
