Patrick McCullar Receives National Donovan Award

The American Public Power Association (APPA) presented their James D. Donovan Individual Achievement Award to Patrick E. McCullar, President & CEO of the Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation (DEMEC). The award was presented earlier this week at APPA’s Nation Conference in Minneapolis, MN. The Donovan Award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions not only to public power but to the electric utility industry as a whole.

Patrick McCullar was chosen as a winner of this award due to his expertise in electric market regional transmission organizations and his key role in steering PJM Interconnection stakeholder activities.

He has lobbied on behalf of Delaware and Public Power at both the Federal and State levels. He testified before Congress on the impact of the Dodd-Frank Act, Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and the FERC Oversight of Energy Markets, and on transparency of energy markets. He also served on the APPA Board of Directors.

Receiving a national award from APPA is a high honor and all of us here at DEMEC want to take this time to congratulate Mr. McCullar on this well-deserved award and thank him for his contributions to our member communities and to public power in Delaware.
