DEMEC and it nine municipal members are pleased to offer you Energy Depot®, a new set of online tools and resources to help you better understand and manage your home energy use and costs. Energy Depot is your one-stop resource for energy information and it’s available free. You can use Energy Depot to:
- Receive a personalized energy profile with an estimate of your energy costs for each home energy system/appliance
- Learn specific things you can do to reduce your energy use and how much you can save
- Complete a do-it-yourself home energy audit and receive your report online
- Quickly estimate the annual energy use and cost of home energy systems and appliances with the Energy Calculator
- Compare you existing heating and cooling system, or water heater, to a range of new systems, or compare two new systems to each other. Determine how soon you can pay for your new system through energy savings.
- Use the Energy Library to answer your energy questions
- Get answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding home energy use

Green Energy Grants
Municipal Green Energy grants are now available to encourage and support renewable energy technologies. Availability is limited to electric customers of Delaware municipal electric utilities which are contributing to the Municipal Green Energy Fund. For more information on qualifying technologies and installation requirements please refer to the Municipal's Green Energy Regulations.
Municipal Green Energy Grant Applications may be obtained by calling the Delaware Energy Office at (302) 735-3480 or by visiting the Municipal Green Energy Program.

Voluntary Green Energy Purchase Program
The purpose of the Voluntary Green Energy Purchase Program is to allow municipal electric customers the opportunity to purchase blocks of green energy at competitive market rates. The blocks are generated from non-carbon based, qualifying renewable energy sources. By subscribing to this program, customers will be helping to improve the environment by reducing pollution and consumption of non-renewable resources.
DEMEC's nine municipal members offer their customers the option to voluntarily purchase blocks of green energy. Blocks of 100kwh are offered for one year terms and will be renewable yearly at the then current market rate. The amount of green energy blocks may be awarded on a first-come first-serve basis. If subscriptions exceed available green energy, customers will be
placed on a waiting list for the following year.
